IN-PERSON WORKSHOP

Join our stamp-making workshop to create your own mushroom stamp using the linocut technique! If you've ever wanted to try print-making, this is a beginner-friendly technique that can transform a simple design into a beautiful piece of art. As the the autumn rains begin to bring out the fungal friends, it's the perfect season to celebrate the beauty and diversity of mushrooms through art! Learn how to carve a design into a rubber carving block to create your stamp, then ink the stamp and print it onto paper to take home! Some techniques use actual linoleum blocks, but this workshop will use rubber carving blocks.

No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a love for creativity (and mushrooms!). All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with multiple prints of your design, plus your carved stamp to take home.

Note: This program is intended for adults and ages 14+ due to the tools and materials used (youth under 19 must have a guardian registered with them).

PROGRAM DETAILS

This program will take place at the Stanley Park Pavilion at the Stanley Park Ecology office (610 Pipeline Rd) on the second floor in the Salmonberry Room. Please arrive 10 minutes early to check-in.

Terms and Conditions

(1) Registration required - NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED. Fees for this program are based on a sliding scale – reduced fees are available for those with financial barriers.

(2) Cancellation policy – We offer partial refunds for program fees up to 14 days before the program. A 20% administration fee applies. Cancellations with less than the required notice are non-refundable. We do not refund fees for late or missed programs. Please request a refund by emailing publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca. You may also choose to support our public education programming by donating your registration fee.

(3) Weather – Rarely, programs may be postponed or cancelled due extreme weather like high winds or extreme heat. We will alert you by email if the program needs to be rescheduled. If the program cannot be rescheduled, refunds will be offered with a 20% administration fee or you may choose to transfer your ticket to another program of the same value.
