Film Club TRC Day Special Edition: Bones of Crows

In honor of Truth and Reconciliation Day, Richmond Public Library's Film Club invites you to join us for a screening of the new film Bones of Crows! Please note: popcorn will be served with the movie. This Film Club is for ages 18 and up About the Film: Marie Clements' Bones of Crows is a psychological drama that spans a century, following Cree matriarch Aline Spears as she survives Canada's devastating residential school system. The narrative tracks Aline and her family as they endure state-sponsored systematic abuse, forced assimilation, and intergenerational trauma. During World War II, Aline utilizes her fluency in her native language to serve as a Cree code talker for the Canadian Air Force. Decades later, she and her descendants work to confront the institutional powers responsible for these historic atrocities. Ultimately, the film serves as a powerful testament to Indigenous resilience, survival, and the fight for truth and reconciliation.
